Judge's Comments:Juicy paint, atmosphere, and mood...It’s enough to make a painter drool! Wish I could see this in person to see the paint surface- looks thick and substantial. Brrrrr it’s cold – we sense the two are standing close just to stay warm. Lot’s of subtlety happening around the big, bold and beautiful shapes of the horses: shadows in the snow, suggested shapes in the distance, subtle color shifts in the grays, wetness.
