Judge's Comments:There is a beautiful glow in this painting. The color shifts in the sky and water, the sun (and wind) caught in the sails and then reflecting in the water works with the slight diagonals of the boats and surf to keep the eye moving. Red accents in the lead boat pull you into focus. We are witness to the visual pageantry of the regatta in choppy waters. - Randall Sexton
