Judge's Comments:Great and classic plein air piece. I see the artist striving to get and capture all the necessary details of this scene--the colors in the shadows, the interesting shapes of the rocks, the change of terrain in the foreground. It's all there, as well as the simple division between sea and sky--which creates a nice and natural balance to the work. I think what I like the best is the shape and form of the rocks and the color and compositional variations found within. - Joshua Rose
