Judge's Comments:The solid red field hovering just about the ground is breath-taking. I enjoy how it starts with a few random yet well placed flowers in the forefront and then becomes a solid field of red. No need to discern shape or number of flowers. just the overall effect of seeing all of them at once merging into this great pool/field of redness. Even the solitary flowers, though, are dabs of paint yet we get enough information so we know that they are poppies. Even in those little splotches, the essence of the flower shines through. - Joshua Rose
