Judge's Comments:Remarkable portrait. Very powerful, partly due to the subject, costume and background which are the decisions and vision of the artist.
Strong composition and feeling of form. Usually we remark on beautiful soft or lost edges but here there is something stunning with the use of sharp edge and line.
