Judge's Comments: This painting plays us like a fiddle; our eye is being forced to look where it is told to look (all the while thinking it has free will). The hierarchy of illumination is dictated by the hand of the artist, and we follow, as docile as a bull with a ring through its nose. Dude makes it look easy; I hate him. You probably hate him too. Thatís the price one pays for being a master. - Charlie Hunter
