Corner Cafe, Paris
by Barbara Flowers
Oil 20 x 16

Entered in: March 2010

Judge's Comments: This painting is fun. It feels like a painting of Paris should feel, it is bright and has a frivolous feel, full of movement and repose. I love the variations in color, the brush and knife work and the depth. What really makes this painting feel different is the building on the left, which curves into the painting. A straight column here, which would be the natural tendency for a painter, would have killed the movement. - Eric Rhoads
